GIVE ME A CHANCE
He did me wrong.
and I remind you of that.
I am insecure
and security is something I must gain.
Your not him
still I hold you accountable
just cause you are a man.
I realise I am wrong
to see him in your face.
Thats what life did to me
I apologise.
Give me a chance to find me again.
Dont go to far away
I want to love you still.

And you will never be him? No one is exactly alike. :-)
I love the fact that the person in this poem (you?) realizes that we should not hold the next "prospect" accountable for anything the other did in a prior relationship. I suppose they call that part of the rebound? I don't know but I do know that I love the subject in this and that there is the realization no blame (if any) needs to be pointed at the next person.
