When space with all its empty glow
Takes hold of daylight's shine
And from the shadows comes the moon
To cross that failing line,
The heavy lashes blink and close
As labour lends them weight
Until the darkness of the mind
Takes slumber as its mate.
Amid the vale of frosted sheets
Where phantoms dance and twirl
To cause a farce that night alone
More real than all the world,
The spectral giants show as needed
Arms bore open wide
In reverence to the traveller
Whose dream awaits inside.

great form and composition
solid depth of content
line twelve i feel weakens the flow and continuity of the composition as a whole
though.
a brooding dark revelry.

"The heavy lashes blink and close
As labour lends them weight"
What a splendid
way
to describe an ended
day.
You always pick the perfect words.
(nice write!) |
