Would you join in on a game,
Knowing you would lose?
If your answer is no,
Then why did we chose,
To take part in this life
Where no one is safe
We all run from the end
That we all one day face
And we learn to fear death
But there’s no way to beat it
The strongest of men
Will not go undefeated
And kind words of sincerity
Are rarely uttered true
We all hold on so tightly
For this life we must lose
And everything made
Can somehow be broken
What feels right today
Tomorrow is but a token
And where do memories come?
They are just times we have lost
Forever’s we have all but won
And we will always pay the cost
This journey we take
Is at most bittersweet
For when you are facing life’s battles
Prepare for defeat
We are never done crying
So why do we long to feel better?
It’s a cycle gods constantly supplying
In mans cold and paining endeavor
