Here brother
to the well you made me.
Sit on the dark stone edge
where the water collects and
falls to the pit.
Maybe you’ll see the fox
who brings offerings;
whatever is his in all the world.
We can stand at the bottom,
and wait to see a full moon crest the rim,
all the trees in silhouettes,
cedars creaking there pleasure,
as roots burst forth from these walls you made.
