There is beauty in oblivion
Forgetting all that we could have been
Erased from memory
Never were you a part of me
The person I though that you had been
I will never know him again
Being able to forgive
Makes it easier to go on
Being able to forget
Makes it easier to let go of regret
The story of that boy and girl
To her, he was the whole world
To him, she was just a part
They laughed and they kissed
He continued to pretend
She thought she could never love like this again
Dismissed from my mind
There’s no looking back to that time
Being able to forgive
Makes it easier to go on
Being able to forget
Helps to let go of regret
So here’s to the story of a man and a wife
To her, he is her whole life
To him, it isn’t anything
She is the court jester and he is the king
There is pain in memory
No use remembering the story
There is beauty in oblivion
Until history repeats over and over again
Each time making it harder to pretend
