LoveRemembered
|
Sometimes he reminds me of you, the way his hand always finds mine,
The way his eyes light up when he sees me, it happens every time.
The way he holds me so close to him, and never lets me go…
Or maybe the way he enjoys my laugh as you did so long ago.
Sometimes the things you used to say escape from his lips,
And the way he places his hands on my hips…
Makes me realize I’m pretending he’s you,
That’s how I know we’re stuck together like glue.
If I had it my way it wouldn’t be like this,
I’d feel for him what I felt for you each time we kissed.
Or would I go on living this way?
Would I really choose to get over you or would I continue to betray?
Questions that can’t be answered will always seem to linger,
Even after someone slips a shiny ring on my finger.
And if I never completely get over you and move on…
Well I guess I’ll continue living my life in the wrong.
Wishing that my new love was really you,
Secretly crying over us and what we put each other through.
We shouldn’t have to live our lives this way,
Regretting our decisions and trying our best to deal with the pain.
