Broken Heart

Contributed by brasco on Sunday, 9th August 2009 @ 09:26:30 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

She ripped his heart from his chest
And cast it to the ground
She said it was for he best
What goes around comes around

She claimed he hurt her first
That he was never true
So he deserved the worst
And her fury only grew

He pleaded don’t think so ill
My heart was yours to keep
To do with what you will
I have sown so you could reap

Through her anger and her pain
His words she could not hear
Though his blood had left a stain
She did not seem to care

Finally he sat by a fallen tree to rest
Knowing his fate was surely sealed
And rolling toward sunset in the west
Was his broken heart… congealed

Heart-breakingly beautiful piece; I can relate to it because I was cruel and did something similar to a guy because I wanted to get even for the heartbreak he caused. I wish I could take back my heartless actions. I love your writing. Superb piece.
