The remembrance of you

Contributed by thesweetestsin65 on Sunday, 9th August 2009 @ 08:55:59 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Where did our dreams go?
Why did we both turn so cold?
There’s nothing I can do to change your mind,
Nothing I can do to make you realize we’re two of a kind.
I’ve tried everything I can think of to open your eyes,
Because mine burn like fire with love, even after all your lies.
All of our inside jokes and little “I love you” games,
They’ve all been washed away like forgotten names.
I think about us a year ago, up on the phone all night…
Knowing we both had lives to live come the morning light.
But the sting of sleepless bodies was something we were willing to fight,
Just so we could feel like we were together, so we could both be alright.
You gave up on us, you let go of the fight…
But I’m still here kicking and screaming trying to make this right.
“Forever and always” and “I miss you super much”
Brought tears to our eyes and made us both feel a rush.
To let this go would be a waste; to give up now would destroy our lives
Because the memories of us will survive all of the sleepless nights.
