A Rose In Spring

Contributed by daylynn_van_wyk on Wednesday, 5th August 2009 @ 01:38:09 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

A beautiful rose blossoming amongs't the weeds of this small town,
gracing me with the presence of love for this rose i've found.

Clovers bare luck for unlucky fools,
fools which seek love trusting in the four petals of nature,
leaving thier hearts vulnerable to injury and fracture.

Yet you my angel are much like a rose in this unforgettable spring,
blossoming in the field of my heart and warming it with the bliss you bring.

Your an eternal rose staying red forever in my heart,
and if painted would portay an image more beautiful than the world's art.

Your beautiful petals bare immunity to the grasp of an autumn's day,
and your stem stands firm deaf to the cold whispers winter's say.

Unlike the clover's four you bare many,
and your rose hip for lonelyness is the sweetest remedy,
igniting the flames of unknown passion consealed deep within me.

Your thorns so sharp, so tender,
shield me from approaching pain,
yet it was i, who put an end to this spring's undying flame.

I stand another day without the doubt of regret,
but the feeling of lonelyness is to much for my weak heart to neglect.

Now im forced to watch my rose grows in the distance of a bleek summer's day,
abandoning our beautiful memories lost in the halls of a spring's day.

My summers will never be warm again,
for summer's stolen my rose from this wonderous spring,
intrapping me in the coldest winter where in my heart no rose may grow,
winter lingers knowing a spring's day my heart will never again know.

My major senses slowly fade,
an my eyes close upon the beauty of the sight of spring,
my ears too; now deaf to the sound of sweet melodies birds sing,
my nose soon looses the scent of spring's sweet aroma,
and my touch is now cold viewing spring from a wintery coma.

so i say goodbye,
and i let go of this dream,
of "A ROSE IN SPRING",
watching as my heart fades into darkness an in sadness becomes serene.

Excellent weaving of the seasons and the flower throughout the poem. I hope you may find a rose in spring again.
