There Is No Free Will

Contributed by The_Callif on Monday, 3rd August 2009 @ 09:14:15 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

This is not for you.
Avert your gaze.
This is not for you.
(Is this for me?)
Am I stumbling along a path,
Pretending that these steps are ¿mine?

I love this piece! I have often pondered whether any of us have any Free Will of our own. Nicely written!

I agree, this is short but speaks volumes.
Stumbling along a path, I relate

This brings to mind a virtual stream of questions broad as any horizon. (also some favorite Pearl Jam lyrics. . . this is not for you. . . never was for yooouuuu. . . & lastly, something I penned awhile back, stumbling to an understanding). Fascinating subject & one question for you, how did you
invert that questing mark? The semblance to footsteps is amazing! Bravo! elle

Crikey. You are quite the wisconsin philosophical poet (try saying that without all your faculties in order). i'm afraid nobody else is responsible for our mistakes. We make them, we take the consequences. Or at least we should do.

I find this most touching, especially the first three lines. I really don't know why. Fantastic job.

Yes. A most ponderous thought. It might be nice to be able to blame
our mistakes on the fact that we have no choice, but the truth is, we
choose our path; it does not choose us. I will not debate the infinite
power of destiny. I do not believe nor disbelieve. I only know this.
Whatever destination lay at the end of our journey, it is our free will
that decides the route and means of transport. And THAT is what
counts.

Excellent write. Very thought provoking.
