If

Contributed by shelby on Monday, 3rd August 2009 @ 09:13:02 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Those questions slip inside ones thoughts.
We get lost to the chatter once again.
Maybe shed a tear or two with the memories
that come back, dancing in our hearts again and again.

People come into our life and we want them to stay.
Then within an instant without word poof, they go away.
Leaving that pain sifting beside our hearts
that little if comes once more back to our thoughts.

Then the night comes with the shadows that engulf all around
and you lay awake often times feeling the clown.
Then that darn little IF raises itself in your bed,
and you cannot escape it but wished that you had.

and the night owns your pain, taking over for the day
and you wish it away, wish IF away and really want things the same.....

as they were before........ and you miss them.

Nicely written. The If's in life truly do perplex us. Very nice flow and I can truly relate to the topic considering I am always thinking and analyzing everything.

Hey shel ... sorry I've been away for so long. Missed your emotional
outpourings hun! They remind me that I am not alone. I wish I would
take your pain away. And when IF becomes a thing we can actually
touch, then we will all have everything we've ever and always needed
and prayed for.

Beautifully said, but so full of melancholy.

*huge hugs*
