The Heartbeat of a Thought

An idea, newly-hatched cracks open in my brain;
fragile in my confused mind with floating emotions.

This newborn thought must fend for itself;
its heart beats delicately resting from stress.

The only safe place in my brain is the realm containing happy memories;
this little thought must crawl a long way to get there.

The newborn thought's heart thumps forcefully against
the strong Stream of Impossible Dreams.

Tick, Tock time is taking its toll;
will this new thought be allowed to grow?
