An 80's Love

This is a tale of an 80's love,
a time when two hearts stood still;
not for reason, but destiny's will.
Marvin Gaye sang sweetly in candle lit background,
lost within the depths of the sweetest sound,
they slow danced with hearts pressed close,
marveled by the miracle of the love they chose.
He got down asking for a yes...
So upon the wings of love they may fly,
above clouds away from miseries below,
Just two hearts within this infinite sky.
So they may retire within the pleasures of love,
Like a floating star across the cosmos,
escaping to a paradise of sweet delight,
just them two away from the world's sight.
He asked for a yes...
To make this lover's vow eternal,
so his heart may be pure,
for this love; there is no worldly remedy,
only her love can cure.
Say yes...
''So we can make our own paradise,
a place where our love is more abundant than air,
for you are my true love,
and with you the rest of my life I want to share''
"Yes", she replied.
A moment revealing lifes greatest joy,
like a dream the wheel of forture turns,
two fates collided, sparking a flame,
which now will eternally burn.
