A Delicate Fragrant Flower

A Delicate Fragrant Flower
A B Rasul

A delicate, fragrant flower,
Bloody thorns,
Thorny, stinking, colourless
Flowers,
Shadowy leaves,
In one ineffable garden.

Now this resembles some of the ottoman/turkish poetry i've been reading recently. In them, the flower is a rose and it represents the beloeved. I am guessing that is the same here. But the flowers is guarded by the thorns, which is either the love rivals or the malicious treak within the beloeved. The flowers seemed fragrant before you were cut by the thorns, then they became harmful and horrible. Like Love seems beautiful and serene until it goes wrong, then it appears ugly and horrific. It's a clever poem, good work.

Hi Phil, thanks for reading and commenting. Actually I don't know that Turkish poem you talk about but I would like to read it if you have the link though I don't speak Turkish but I might look for the translation, anyways I like the way you interpreted the poem, thank you
Best wishes,
Aso.

Nice writing. I like how your poem is quite contrasting with the title. It is funny how people only focus on a beautiful details of something while overlooking the thorns of life. Great write! I look forward to more!
