watching the man who took my place
in your eyes, your heart, and your life
watching the man who possesses my treasures
my son and my wife
watching you study him, so lovingly
you seem so happy now
the three of you, a picturesque family
everything seems perfect somehow
but, where i am, perfection is scarce
suffocating misery abounds
trapped by visions of the love that i lost
baneful memories surround
watching you curl up next to him
holding him tight as you sleep
tears fill my eyes, as my memory screams and dies
drowned in your love for him, so deep
my son now calls him daddy
he does not remember me
the new man, this ***** superman
a better father than i could ever be
so bitter now, so full of hate
and, in the end, so goddamned alone
i could point my finger til hell's flames expire
truth is, the blame is my own
i wish i could kiss you, one last time
wish i could feel the peace that you do
i wish i hadn't killed myself, wish i were the one
sleeping, smiling, next to you

That was awesome, the way you bought poem to life, was very well done.
You Have a lot of talent in the way you make the words flow.
Keep it up. |
