I was sitting on the bus with some friends
And this girl got on with her dog and
Her special someone
They seemed to be traveling
Hitch hiking their way
All that they owned on their backs
She sat down in an isle seat
With her dog at her feet
I only spoke to her once
To give her the time
She never paid me no mind
Just another face in the world
Just another person on the bus
I couldn't help but stare
I watched as she twirled her hair
To me,
She was so very intriguing
I wanted to go over to where she sat
To sit and talk with her
But I stayed put
And held my tongue
I felt odd staring
But it was hard to look elsewhere
Though she never noticed
Only looked over when
My friends were making a scene
Sadly enough, it eventually became their stop
They got their stuff
And hopped off
As I look back now
I wish I had
Gone to chat with her
She seemed so interesting
I feel I let a great opportunity slip by
She hasn't left my memory
Just left me intrigued and wanting more
She was not just some
Meaningless person
That I saw on the bus one time
I can't place what it was
But if I could do it over again
I would have gotten up and talked with her

I love the story in this piece. Maybe someday you will see the girl again. It's amazing how certain people draw us like magnets the moment we see them. I enjoy this piece.

I enjoyed this you took me right to the spot.
It is funny how at times we are drawn to people only to have them slip away. You very well may cross paths with her again.
Nicely written poem

Great piece. Some times you just have to take that chance. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
