Beauty and the Beast

Contributed by eeeitak on Friday, 17th July 2009 @ 08:56:45 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

The beast lurks
He rips off the skin of a young prince
Tries on his new boyish grin
The disguise doesn't quite fit, but it'll do
And he searches the village for a beauty or two
She sees in his eyes the hunger, the monster
But, that perfect lie--he tells her he loves her
He sweeps her away to his dark cave
Just for an adventure, this prince was brave

The beast's skin starts to slip,
But before the beauty can make a sound
He rips out her heart
Leaves her dead on the ground

The beast stalks away
Ready for another girl, his prey
And even with warning they'll all be found cold
For who could resist once they're told

They're loved?
Loved, loved
Love

The beast lurks
He rips off the skin of a young prince
Tries on his new boyish grin

The whole write just stirred my emotions. . . love should be tender & true, not just some
farce. & why can monsters only lure under a disguise? Well done. :) elle

I love this poem. I find it intriguing and very well- written. Unfortunately there seems to be too many beasts wearing masks of deception when it comes to declaring love to get what they want. I love this piece!
