Darkest before dawn

It's always darkest before dawn.
But the night is far too long.
From happiness I have long withdrawn,
But this is not where I should belong.

It's always darkest before dawn,
yes, the night seems far too long,
yet there is hope for the coming light,
and for this hope we're gonna stay strong.

I really really love this. It's short but powerful, and I love the hopeful tone at the ending. Great write!! :)
