Into the midnight air she walked.
choking her every breath, she yearned to see in sight, plain
what was in front of her as she talked
to herself, reassuring she was still sane.
The moonlit forest glistened ajar to the lake of crystal dreams.
With every step, her bones soundly creak
but not over the sounds of screams
inside her mind describing the memories which were by now bleak.
As she continued, the wolves surrounded her inch by inch
crippling the once audacious woman in their perif.
There on the ice cold ground, her only reaction was to cringe.
Blood spattered aray on the dew-covered surface, just as if
it would seem like a strawberry to be drowned in chocolate.
Her imagination went into despair, hopelessness, and loss.
Loss of what once called a life.
