Music in water
Hard to hear
Words unspoken
But the meaning is clear
What might have been said
What might have been done
She grabs my hand
Her life saved
By this cruel son
Sheepishly smiling
Now fully recovered
Her thoughts and motives
Never truly discovered
I seem just a friend
She wants nothing more
My soul is aching
My feelings torn
Walking up to her
Nothing is the same
She looks and laughs
She plays the game
The one of life
And I'm the other
To bail her out
To keep her covered
Music in water
Hard to hear
Now it is my thoughts
They are unclear
Don't speak to me
Just remember my face
Because I know who I am
I know my place
