radiant in his glow towering high above
alone in the blue sky, burning, yearning
for yet another chance to see her face
to meet her lunar gaze in the lonesome space
a procession of stars precede her rise
adorning a sparkling dress in the night sky
from her solemn slumber, she eagerly wakes
impatient, having waited to sate her heartache
only briefly do they gaze upon each other
unable to touch, too distant for contact
passing by each other, their hearts race
knowing one day they can again embrace
he awaits his chance to twilight serenade
she awaits her chance to touch her soulmate
on the night when they again will be united
body and soul as one, their hearts await
the solar eclipse, their heavenly place
to join as one albeit for only a moment
content are they with the slightest of time
as the wait is worth that single embrace.
