Chasing The Dragon

Contributed by thirdeye462 on Wednesday, 8th July 2009 @ 11:37:52 AM in AEST
Topic: anguished

in the beginning i trusted you and you comforted me

in the end you left me with nothing

couldnt have left me with something

it started so easy and i thought you would never leave me

people told me that you would decieve me but i loved how you relieved me

i pulled you up that hole a million times

into the cavity of my mind

at first you acted so kind

but the evil started to show after time

the pain out weighed the pleasure in ways i can not measure

it felt like you were all i would ever treasure

you took the only thing ill ever love the one thing i held above

for this you are my enemy and never again will you be a friend to me

i sit here and watch you destroy countless others brothers friends and lovers

you make 2 them empty promises but give them only broken dreams

you promise joy and pleasure and give them only hollow souls that scream

for help they scream but the cries are unclear

for as loud as the soul screams the harder you hold the ear

you have left me with a hollow shell to fill

looking for someone or something that will

i gave you 2 years and all i got in return were tears

you had me contemplating suicide

but now i fear ive already died

remember all those times we had to hide

i hid you in my room because they just wouldnt understand

even my friends who tried to lend a helping hand

but being with you was like running in sand

you still haunt me in my dreams

out of my body but not my mind it seems

if we should meet again what would you say to me

i think about how awkward it might be

or will i still be to blind to see

i chased you so far for so long

even when every part of me new it was wrong

i chased you my dragon till the end only to find you were not my friend

A very honest, engaging write.
