LoveRemembered
|
I walk down the hall, you are not there
your voice lingers echoing with each step.
you are not there
your lips are pressed upon mine like cold daggers, slashing at each breathe i take
you are are not there.
I turn the corner your eyes are focused on my neck, burning deep and long.
you are not there
I remember i used to stare into your eyes for understanding, compassion and longing, how i would get lost in them.
you stare at mine and you look away, you see nothing.
I reach the cross roads between your life and mine there is no turning back, and no point to
the hourglass is ticking and your laughing,
trying to draw me back into your trap, only i will be quick
for love is a strong bond which i have for you, it isn't dying or changing.
however i am changing, my heart longs for you
but my body and mind knows it is pointless.
I stare at you, the misshaped figure you have become
indeed you are not there or here, in fact you aren't anywhere.
the only place you exists is in my mind, all the memories of you, i thought we shared
no, you are not my love you are someone else i do not recognize.
I will leave this place as quickly as i came and not return again.

Beautifully written poem! You express so much emotion in this piece. I love the images you give the reader. I can see this poem in my mind! I am sorry for the pain you've had as expressed in the poem.
