When I think of you
I don’t think of lust or sexuality,
Though that is part of what may attract me.
When I think of you
I don’t think of wit or intelligence,
Though that is part of what draws me hence.
When I think of you
I don’t think of care, hope or charm,
Nor do I see you as something handsome on my arm.
When I think of the one
I just wish I could hold,
I can’t go to sleep,
I don’t want to let go.
Because then the fear takes over,
Of what daybreak may bring:
The truth, you not here, or worse:
You, but a dream.

Yes, very emotional indeed. Maybe every love you have is part reality, part dream. Maybe the soul itself is just a dream, dreamt up by poets and artists. Still, I'd rather take the dream.
