Deep Thought

Contributed by bucksportwaldo on Sunday, 5th July 2009 @ 12:23:48 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

he was but the age of fourteen
and yet he sat and thought
love is such a complex thing
why does he need to understand it now
he thought and thought and thought
does anyone know the true defenition
love is broken down into so many things
but how can you know what love is true
does anyone in this world know
does anyone in this world understand
he sat and thought
and he thought and thought and thought
and he came to a decision
love is only true
when you are ready
and you fully understand
and no one knows the true definiton
so love is but a word
a word that is used in this world like a dirty sock
thrown here
torn there
but a meer word can go so far
who knows what he has in store

I tend to disagree that no one knows what love is. And I find that the word "love" and the phrase "in love" are two very different concepts.
To me it is not so much that there is a definition, it is simply a feeling. One that can not truly be defined in words. I believe a lot of people think they know what it means, but in reality they don't.
I do agree that people over use and underestimate the meaning and effect/affect of the word love. People throw it around too lightly and use it carelessly.

Good poem. Don't hurt yourself thinking(;
