O’ Father and Good Shepherd,
Wash me once more, Lord.
My weaknesses come from none other than I,
Yet my strength comes only form you.
Surrendering is not an option, but is often the choice.
For in failure is he satisfied.
But when he is satisfied, He is displeased.
The shear smell of evil has engulfed my mind, but You are the consuming fire.
So I ask you now, chasten me that I might change.
This message I ask that the Son would render to You.
Please hear me because I’m unworthy to be seen,
Please examine my heart, for this flesh has no good thing
I need strength, Lord, like Samson to a Philistine
I need strength, Lord, like David to Goliath.
I need strength, Lord, like Jesus to a cross.
Thankful am I. Healthy am I. Blessed am I.
But without your strength weakness intrudes.
I ask not for a “taste” of You, for I am unworthy
I ask not for a “touch” from You, for I am unworthy.
But what I do ask is for a “thought.”
You thought, “Donovan” and I was so.
You thought, “man” and it was so.
So I ask you, Father in the name of the Son,
Just think “strength” that I might grab some.
