This is something that I did write
While bored in the Taxi late last night
Half asleep and I hear a bump at the door
An alien from the future, (I'm awake no more!!)
He tells me this story, now here for all to see
We must do something, NOW, you must agree..............
Earth.
I once knew a planet called Earth,
Which was bright blue around its girth
But human numbers exploded
And the Earth was eroded
Earth now has no creatures or worth.

I decided to go home, after that little fright,
Now I'm in my bed, asleep for the night.
Yeah, I know, not good
but let it be understood
5 nights a week, 12 hour shifts
too tired now, for poetic gifts.
ok, I better go now, hope you all enjoyed my little bit o scribble here on my little site.

Great poem. The Earth is being destroyed at alarming rate. Pretty good for someone who is busy helping the rest of us submit our poetry. Thanks for all you do.

Interesting that I read this just after I had put my poem up along a similar theme of earth's destruction.
Different style yet perhaps the same message !!
