Lovers Rendezvous

Contributed by theurbanpoet on Tuesday, 30th June 2009 @ 04:01:07 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Come my dear I'm waiting in Love Street,
Bring your heat and soul, make me complete,

I eagerly wait with a rose and a ring,
Rehearsing my speech as the birds around me sing,

The jewel glows under the moonlit sky,
A tear caresses your cheek as you let out a sigh,

In the meadows we make our sweet love,
Our only witnesses are the stars above,

A lovers clench as we watch the sun rise,
Naked and free, baring no disguise,

We rest our eyes safe in each others embrace,
A moment of bliss we could never replace,

I awake alone; our rendezvous is cold and grey,
I have nothing but memories of you and that your final day.

Crush. Ouch! i landed heavily from that ending! One of the most dramatic shifts in emotion in a single poem that I can remember. A momentous piece really.

Great poem. To me the ending makes perfect sense. Passion this intense can't last forever. Maybe I'm a pessimist. I love this poem!

wow, intense, Thats my best discription of this poem.
It sounds sexual, although I'm not sure that was your intention
I loved it.
And I agree with heidi,
I think perfect moments like this last for eternity.
Lets face it, the world is not all roses and daisies, but memories of moments like this, really turn you alive.

i dont know where to begin with this
this began so lovely, ended so sadly
relationships turn out that way too
maybe your next rendezvous will turnout different

take care
