The Rainbow Raven

Contributed by lesoleilnoire on Monday, 29th June 2009 @ 08:45:39 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

There was existed an island where a famous raven resided;
he was known as the Rainbow Raven of Imagination.
Watching him in flight was a breath-taking sight,
the indigios, blues, and reds combined to bring pure elation.

One day Rainbow Raven was enjoying the day,
flashing its array of colours for all to see.
A cloud of darkness stopped Rainbow Raven in his play;
without the sun rainbows can never be.

A huge sacrifice was made by Rainbow Raven in the daylight;
he had the power to generate rainbows forever.
His feathers would lose their rainbow hue if he chose this path of flight.
Rainbow Raven didn't care; he knew it was a worthy endeavor.

From then on he was known as the Raven with the solitary dark hue;
he was happy to give the island the Rainbow of Imagination.
However, he felt out of place with all the colours and didn't know what to do;
his dark wings of sorrow shimmered in flight and left the island without hesitation.

The Raven's intuition brought him to a gothic palace of depression;
he could feel mourning and loss throughout this eerie house.
He decided to observe the owner and his state of being with obsession.
For first the man thought the noise might be just a mouse.

Upon entering the mourning man's life, the Raven will always stay;
the two are like brothers who suffer terminal loss.
Each reminds the other that happiness is on an island far away;
Living life to the fullest always has a price to pay.
