Color fled from my eyes
Music abandoned my soul
I was drowning in sanity
The world became a white room with padded walls
And my own breaths the jacket that bound me
I shamed the muses with my ramblings
Aphrodite hung her head to sob
Silence the only sound I could stand
The stillness mattered no more
My heart fell onto the floor
And I left it there to beat alone
I was afraid to touch it
I was afraid to mend it
Then, you told me your fears
They were the same as mine
I found myself unafraid
Your voice became a color
Your touch became a thousand points of light
Your heartbeat under my ear the lullaby
That finally lured me to sleep
After a thousand nights under Morpheus' curse
One kiss melted the glacier around my heart
And caused my pain to wash away
Born again in your love
You saved me
