In the confusion of the moment,
Unsure of what should be done,
With a blade in your hand,
So scared you just lunge forward.
Stabbing a friend-
Piercing the skin-
Slicing his flesh-
The red blood flowing
Off the edge of your knife--
Blood curdling screams of pain
Your conscience finally kicks in,
Realizing what you've done,
Only feeling regret,
If only you could take it back somehow,
undo the pain- the scar- the hurt-
ateempeted murderer hoping his friend will live,
So scared you are unable to think straight
Knowing that this can never be justified,
You take your own life as well.

This is so sad. It is never a good thing to know someone that could do something like this but even worse to have it be a family member.

While every care is taken to ensure the general sites content is family safe, our moderators cannot be in all places; all the time. Please report poetry and or comments that are in breach of our site rules HERE (Please include poem title or url). Parents also please ensure that you supervise your children well when they are on the internet; regardless of what a site says about being, or being considered, child-safe.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
