Did you vote for Bush?
If you did or did not
With Twin Towers you gave him
All your support
How did we get from there
to here?
How come being patriotic
Just leads to more fear?
How come these leaders
seem just to be liars?
How come?
How come?
How come?
Your troops they are calling you
We're dying here Mom
You sent your best
Your loved ones and dear
And we anti-war
Know they're not to blame
They are just kids
And all have a name
It's your leaders who have failed you
And how, and HOW!
You gave them your trust
And now, and NOW?
Your troops they are calling you
It's not like they said
It's not full of glory
Hymns and safe bed
People are dying, day after day
People like me
We blow them away
We see them screaming and crying at us
But we really, we really
Don't KNOW what to say...
War is hell Mom, I don't want THIS
I thought I was a liberator
But that's just purest *****
The whole world's gone crazy
And I feel like just crying
They say we are noble
There's nothing noble in DYING
Please let me come home Mom
I am sick of this s***
Let Bush come and get bloody
See what HE thinks of it
This thing is a nightmare
It's a living hell
And most what I've seen
I never can tell
Let me come home Mom
I just want some PEACE
Not slaughter and anger
And hate without cease
Our leaders have brought us
Such shame and such grief
Our warmongering leader
Is the main soul thief
Bush has deceived us
For the sake of some oil
When I see him I'll tell him
He makes my blood boil
The scars of this nightmare
Run ugly and bloody and deep
Let me come home Mom
From this world I must leap...

I take it you are not a soldier so speaking for them is not right. Speak to The_Phantom he will tell you how a soldier feels or the-solo-subject they both know how a soldier feels. The poem was well written but not from any real experience. As the wife of a soldier I support him in everything he does regardless of the mission. |

I am now married to x airforce man. He fought in nam. I will share later on here the damage war protestors do to the morale and feelings of our troops. Durning war time and after war time.
You wrote this poem well, Im not critizing your poetic talents, just some of your views. Our troops weren't drafted over there they are serving of their own accord. Yes they are young and they are scared but I have people over there and right from their mouths, they are not bad mouthing our President in anyway shape or form. They are doing what they were called upon to do. I support them. They need our support.
