soul to soul

Contributed by elle on Friday, 26th June 2009 @ 09:15:01 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

If we embrace a concept
as a belief system
then, randomly
it becomes true for us
though lacking in validity. . .
thus the lesson begins.
I feel we may share some of the same lessons.

dare I still believe
you to be my beloved
long for your memory
to linger. . .
sweet, yet
so bittersweet.
my mind, unable
to spit you out.
my mouth, always
wanting to kiss you. . .
taste you. . . call you mine.
I try to recall
each nuance
of the very heart you.
still only a memory. . .
I want you.

my soul will recognize your soul
for ever after
& hold dear,
without shame. . .
no doubts, no shadows
only clarity
of distinction
slowly. . . gently
. . . acknowledging
all I ever
loved of you.

Facing some recent events in my life, this matches very, very closely to how I feel right now. My 'The Lady Moon' was based on the same thing. Bittersweet, however, is probably the best way to describe it. Then again, love is like a hunger. When you loose what has been satisfying you, you starve.

That might even make a good poem...

Ah.. it is crystal clear, what you still feel in your soul..love is a plant of life. It sees all seasons. Let a new spring visit your garden. :-) venkat

Love is a powerful emotion, probably the most dangerous one, very impressive writing.

Okay, hopefully I won't get that 500 thingy again.

Your poetry is consistently inspiring and always provokes much thought in me.

Especially this line:

my soul will recognize your soul

Makes me wonder if lost loves' souls meet in the after death and if so, then what?
