I had a cat who could whistle
She'd whistle all day long
'The Gambler' was her favourite,
A Kenny Rogers song.
I had a dog who could tap dance
He'd join in with the cat
'Toot, toot, toot' the cat went
The dog went 'rat a tat tat'.
The cat whose name was Mabel
Was very fond of hats.
The dog whose name was Oscar
Wore polka dot cravats.
One afternoon old Oscar said
To Mabel 'Let's elope'.
So they packed a bag with napkins
And a bar of yellow soap.
They settled down in Bournmouth
Behind a Bakers shed
In a comfy little bedsit
And a very hairy bed.
I hear they're still performing
With whistle and with dance.
Someday I might go see them
If I ever get the chance.

Brilliant! It has a sweet innocence about it. Children will love it. |
