For Kitty.
Laurelled Daphne in her dulcimer days
Sung in the morning dew.
A morning shower fell with rainbow pattered knell,
That for her harmony stayed the day long through.
She followed its course, its meander, its path.
She sung of its natures magic, its eternal majesty.
She composed upon the rainbow and its soft and mighty harmony.
The first, the red arose like the spheres of the ages, wondered
At and followed by the mountain sages.
Red the colour of the crucible
Left all but her dulcimer inaudible.
A honey bee of orange heavy in its industry
Buzzing pollen, Its heraldry and striped in natures livery.
The worker of the tower
In the harmony of honey.
For her yellow arose as circumferential
Rings, For bride and groom that everlasting sings.
A green arisen vine entwined, dependant
In kind They cling to the life of the tree kissing
In reverie. Daphne blessed with a dulcimer strong
In midday shade with these she rested anon.
Over the lake in the blue skies so high, she
Fixed upon the pelican swirls,
Blind together in circled curls
Upon the currents they whirl.
The indigo of afternoon light she heard music of heavenly rhyme,
With stringed dulcimer she kept time.
Music of the spheres again and both heavenly music sublime,
Music of harmony she wept at their well kept time.
The violet of the evening
The crack in the crag and the fall of the fen,
The cradles upward, the violet light
Towards the ken of drunken men.
Drunk in the dusk and singing,
The harmony of the vine, lulling in the light
As she joins in vain flight,
With her evening loving light.
For well in joy she loved harmonious nature
Yet, the bower discordant with a harmony
Of men’s crafts opposites,
Mirrors collected in compliments.
Following unknown
Wandering the halls alone
She sang of natures kisses true,
Softly upon her singing lips in evenings chilled dew.
Harmony will always be
As time its pass airy free.

You single-handed prove that our language is the most beautiful in the world. Your deep knowledge of the classical world also allows you to delve right to the genuine roots of poetry, and make the ancient Greeks proud. excellent.

What a beautiful piece of writing. Breath-taking in terms of imagery and theme.
