I watch and I wait
And I anticipate
The news of goodness
And light.
But this disease,
It eats at her
Like a cancer
It burns itself deep
She weakens each day
With each breath
She takes
I can do nothing
But watch and wait
And say fight, fight, fight.
But I know when I
Look deep in her eyes.
She no longer wants to fight
So with each bated breath
She takes
Relief is all she desires.
