Female Chauvinist

Contributed by one-curly-fry on Friday, 19th June 2009 @ 12:34:32 AM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

In the dawn
he stood up above
over that woman
a plaything, not a love
he, the lonesome patriarch
he the male chauvinist

Not dim at all
she finally took a stand
and yelled, “No more!
the rights you have, I demand!”
Hallelujah! Come forth equality!
Hallelujah! A step towards utopia!

Of feminine things
she collected and burnt it all
mere products of culture
the disguised chain and ball
I am woman, hear my roar!
I am human, I will stand as well!

He backed down
many could see her reason
dogma ruled too long
where balance was seen as treason
they could feel the winds of change
they could finally give to hope

I am invincible
she screamed after winning the western war
most celebrated
still she screamed out; she wanted more
Pride is on her soul
Pride is a blinding force

Mere males
she scoffed as he walked passed
safe in the knowledge
to talk back was a crime at last
Free to be whatever she wanted
Free to attack without cause

So equality slipped by
he was a creature at her will
the cause list in Feminism
now under Nurse Ratched’s heel
All men punished for their ghosts
All men silenced by stigma

In the dusk
she stood up above
over that man
a plaything, not a love
she, the towering matriarch
she, the female chauvinist.
