I have yet to see the brighter morrow
Days succeed perpetual night
Stumbling after this beautiful bird
Who flew slow motion through my life
Gasping for her; air to breathe
Searching for her; light to see
Canvas colors fade to grey
Sugar’s taste; no longer sweet
Romance absent, I walk the beach
Fields of scentless flowers grow
The highest acclaimed symphony
Translates to a single sour note
Gasping for her; air to breathe
Searching for her; light to see
Canvas colors fade to grey
Sugar’s taste; no longer sweet
Phoenix fire burning still
Never induced rebirth
My sweetest friend hurts me still
As I walk this desolate earth...
