Little Katie danced when we met
For no reason at all.
Just got up and spun
a lovely pirouhette.
Foolish old man! To be charmed by a sprite!
And yet I admit that I might
have given her a painting.
Kate's grown older it seems
(it happens to all)
And now her life's full
Of troubles like boys, and alcohol.
And maybe I'm a fool
To think she ever looks at
my painting on her wall.
Now, memories slip
thru old men's hands.
Seem's life's over 'ere it's begun.
But in my life's fall
I hope that I'm let
to see in each spinning leaf
Little Katie's Pirouhette.

I enjoyed reading your poem.
I also looked at the picture,
no matter what is going on in katie's life,
I'm sure she'll always remember who gave her that picture. |

Beautiful write of days gone by and memories made..and kept/cherished I'm sure...
