The Big Old Tree

Topic: LovePoetry

How is it that it's so much easier to talk to someone you barely know?
That you can care so much for someone and you barely knew their name?
To be able to tell your entire story in complete confidence to a near stranger
and to have their story confided back in you.

I wouldn't think it possible if i hadn't met you

I told you things i've never told anybody else
things that effect me in a way thats hard to believe
and the thing is I think your yet to realise
just how much that conversation meant to me, how much it helped.

It's as if you reached right down inside of me
and brought back the colour in my heart.
You helped me to trust again, to truelly smile again
you brought me out of a terrifying darkness.

I loved listening to the things you said to me
they way you said them.
you showed me another side of you,
the side behind the act, so sweet and so sincere

I wish I could take away thos things that happened to you
the things that hurt you bad.
they took away your livlihood
and the little pride you had

The saddest thing about this whole ordeal
is that i bet that if you read this
you wouldn't realise it was about you
and the conversation we had

under The Big Old Tree

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
