If Bodies Were Playgrounds...

Contributed by Inevitable on Tuesday, 9th June 2009 @ 05:51:20 PM in AEST
Topic: Nostalgic

Black and blue dreams
Milky skin and iridescent eyes
your lips are like whispers
I shudder under the breeze of your breath
you taste me saying,
"It's not all strawberries and goodness."
I'm laughing inside, I could have told you that, dreamer
if bodies are playgrounds
where hands roam and eyes wander
what do my insides become to you?
You have based yourself upon the tangibility of my flesh
the arc of my mouth, the curve of my breasts, and
the opening between my thighs
feeling fire where others cannot
breathing life into a dormant soul
Our thoughts scatter like stars in the night sky
But I read them in your eyes
wondering if you can read mine
I am perceiving this entangled life,
the interconnecting spiderwebs
there is only one life, and there is only one eternity
and how do I know that I am real,
or that you are real, or that you have ever touched me?
I cannot perceive my own mind
So how can I expect you to?

Okay, so I have read this poem several times now.

First, I must say I like your confidence.

Secondly and there after, while I am sure the poet/poetess always knows where they are coming from, the reader may not. Probably not that it matters much but is possibly still true.

So, this reader sees a lot of lust, love, raciness (almost too racy for this site...maybe), naughtiness but also ambiguity...maybe even innuendoes about an abusive relationship??? Black and blue dreams

But anywho, then you take it somewhere towards the end there with the ambiguity...least what I am seeing. Of course, then, I may be clueless and missing the entire point.

No matter the case, love your style and really like this poem. If I didn't I could not have read it so many times. :D

Take care,

Tim

Wow...this sure sucked me in. I love how
you captured the pull between lovers and
yet how much can still separate them.
Lust, love, need, fear of the intensity and
yet the drive to fulfill it all. I have often
wondered myself if I was *really* being
touched. Great poem, just fantastic.

Be well,
~Loende

My favorite line - "Our thoughts scatter like stars in the night sky > But I read them in your eyes"

Stars are one of the most thought provoking and consoling gifts in this lifetime. They also make me question the significance of our existence and our true reality. Nothingness is an odd source of relief for me.

It's kind of funny and ironic to look up at something so unexplainable that exist directly above millions of people struggling to make sense out of everything. There aren't always answers. I like that about this world and also appreciated the complexities that entangle human nature.

Looking back someday, I think we will miss that. That same dichotomy also fuels your gifted hand.

Thank you.

Townes
