I lay by the water in fine white cloth
Pondering drowning while listening for God
Salty sea air protrudes into my lungs
Makeing me question why he left me undone
The tide it ebbs forward to cover my head
Yet something within me stirs in the dread
Up I stand walking away from the tide
As it chases behind faster than my stride
Alone I will drown in this watery place
For few on this beach look into my face
Yet, one is there suddenly holding my hand
A friend and a lover so uncommon a man
Upwards he lifts me onto a rock
So steady and solid I cry out in shock
The water can't reach me, though it may try
but love one the contest and no one will die
