Half a Man

All these things
lay around me
memories of you
in a silent room
mocking my presence
reminding me
that I’m not enough
not for you
not for any girl
half a man
the other side
too subtle
to be taken seriously
to be whole
A lovely person
not a loveable man
a fun child
not a great partner
All these things
lay around me
memories of you
in a silent room
mocking my soul
reminding me
I’m half a man.

I'm sitting here having one seriously decadent cup of java (whip creme & the works) thinking. . . wow, this is some strong stuff in this poem.
My gran-pappy used to call it good practice, to get knocked down (repeatedly) & to get back up (running). Always go with your highest
thought. . . maybe instead of being less than, you are simply too much for the average girl. Seems to me, that you may need to hold out
& wait for a truly special individual. Society speculates that we should be attached but I think failure arises when we come together
with others too quickly & call it love before we really know & understand them. It's ok to love just don't loose sight of yourself. . . cheers.
Great poem, by the way. smiling. elle |
