He hewed the vermillion crystal,
its pulse of luminescence an extension
of his electrolytes, a distal
yet important manifesto

of "The Orange Currents. have not forgotten
to scalp an isthmus for us tourists,
but our progeny may find nature’s plank rotten
with mercury."

"This is where magma thinks before ample
disasters, when thinking would seem
swell, This is before the mad scientist might trample
all and all, and you think how thinking is ripe"

"for him now, as he presides,
and how he should do his thinking when he wins,
when his footnotes are sound, when the pH of even his B-sides
fulfills the right paludal saga, inveigles upstanding credits."

"After you depart from this Valhalla of caves, the sprinter
that you are, and find most doors unintelligible, most ergonomic gestures
embarrassing; your video game controls insufferable, long after these floors splinter
into jetties and dead ends, then this land"

"will no longer seem like a bandaged grotto,
smoke tamed, lava subjugated;
for, your veins will sing its motto"
as you cool down: Time to scowl, think with a cigarette.
