Topic: oops

In the moonlight my words shine like pearls
I walk towards you and take your hand
but then you fade away
was it all a dream?
the thought that you loved me
and I could love you back
the hope and courage I got from being around you
fade away with the ground
I go flying through the nothing that I feel
The pain I get knowing your gone will stay there
dark dull needles digging into my heart
one after another
pain like splintering bones jagged through pale skin
you left me behind
just like everyone else
was I not enough for you?
no
I wasn't something you could hide behind
a shield from the bullets of the world
not good enough
I'd protect you if I could
but I can't
I can't even protect myself
I say I'm granite
but really I crumble
it was I who didn't need you
I need someone to hold me up
not someone who just hides
my words flow away in the pouring rain
down the hills of my chest as they come from my lips
water pouring down around me
waiting for someone to come out of the darkness
someone who can handle me
handle my words
