I sit here in a morgue
Thinking of the bodies blood and gore
But I'm not nervous no goose flesh on my skin
For these are my future countrymen
For once I'm dead
We'll be in same place resting our head
Sooner then others will I meet that day
When I sit with my countrymen and decay
I sit here in a morgue resting my head
But I'm not nervous
For I'm soon to a countrymen to the dead

Well-written poem, but it worries me a little. It is true that humans have a very limited time on earth and should accept death as a natural process of life. I guess everyone feels like they are "dead" in some way at some point. I have felt emotionally dead at times. I like the message that one should not fear death but accept it. Sorry I rambled. I guess I am in a rambling mood because of summer vacation and extra energy. I hope you will overcome any depression you might be experiencing. I hope I didn't offend you by saying that. I like your writing. Great Poem. |
