Silent Screams

Contributed by TiffanyStarr2323 on Friday, 5th June 2009 @ 09:28:12 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Too much pride has always been my problem,
And perhaps it’s the very thing that shut me down.
Artificial relationships building all around me,
Let me knock down these ugly desolate walls.

A shot to numb the pain,
And yet another silent scream rings out.
What more can I say or do for you to come to your senses?
I have given every inch of what I have; I’m empty and run down.

Easily distracted by the music, smoke and lights,
And yet another bottle of warm vodka wins the fight.
Before I know it, the sun is up, and I’ve missed another fight, another night.
How much more can this frail body take on?

This is my life will full respects,
But I would rather sleep forever, bring the coma.
A blank canvas so easily protects me,
And this fake smile supports it so well.

Family and counterfeit friends,
Counting up the days of aggravation I cause.
I’m ignorant as much as I’ve fought it,
But aren’t all of us?

The rocky pit has finally reached my toes,
How did I fall so fast? How did I hit so hard?
My shaken hands are raised for you ALL to see,
Rehabilitation is all I have left. I finally surrender.

Sounds like you just need to get away
and start over
and invoke your will power
Good luck

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
