blank blight

my eyes can never seem to decide on their color
hues ever changing, ever shifting
a bleak gray this moment, moments next a steely blue
turning and transforming from rich hazel, to sea green
infinitely morphing in vain attempt to challenge what broods underneath
never too deep behind their spectrum it lies.....
defeating and showing through any pigment displayed
constant black blight beneath whatever shade shone
.....lies my blank stare
