Don't cry, Kiss me while I die

Contributed by venkat on Thursday, 27th March 2003 @ 11:25:00 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Behold! The lioness leapt upon my words
and carried them away to her dark cavern.
Please keep my thoughts safely in your heart
Oh, my Darling and my Soul mate!
A burning pang cleaves through my head
A bullet shot pierces through my heart
Am I in a battlefield? Do you hear the guns shout ?
Yes, hand in hand we move in a world of death!
Are we not married by love heart to heart?
I know you loved me as your soul mate,
And I loved you more than my life breath
Oh! Darling I can’t bear this agony
The violent and hungry hounds of pain
Tearing my limbs as they passed
The pain rends me like an axe to fell me here
Death cuts me asunder, how can I leave you dear!
Oh, take me into the shade of our love-tree
Let me see the birds of poems which sang our love
Just a while, please let me lay my head in your lap
Your love may guard me from the hands of evil fate
Perhaps by your touch the death may pass away
Please don’t cry dear! I can’t see your eyes with tears
Let me wipe your tears, let me kiss your cheeks
Oh dear! Don’t grow pale; I shall live in thy soul
My darling, please don’t cry! Oh my soul, lean down
And kiss me while I die, ah; kiss me while I die...

This poem is written with great passion and is breathtaking in its beauty, as are all your poems ... although this time I am not positive if you are devastated at leaving your wife as you are dying ... or perhaps as you are dying you fear for your faith - will you go to Heaven or not? But nevertheless, I always enjoy reading between your lines ... a wonderful write ... sincerely Jan

My dear friend, .Don't take this as my imagination of personal death.. because I have no death and at my heart I feel that am an immortal soul.. if my day completes as an individual in this world I can leave my body even with my will. here in this poem Ineither I felt as an individual (venkat) nor I didn't address my wife. I have neither heaven nor hell. I have no duality of this world .. I love to live in the pure consciousness as the absolute existnce. which neither form nor name its the endless infinite supreme bliss.. my soul knows no genders I am neither male nor female. for I am a monist. ..but why did I write this.. because out of ignorence I some times drag the world into my soul and try to live in this world of illusion as a member among all and try to live as a mortal. when I think about the worldly existence and other souls which feel their own individual identities.. I receive endless vibrations to my mental world and i experience pain of death from various souls of the world.. I feel death is a truth in this world of ignorence..how can I deny the joys and sorrows of this mortal world let witness all let me express all let tell what I feel in this illusory mortal coil., In reality I dont know what is pain .. just I tried to understand the pain of death and tried to express much against nmy real nature and accept truth of illusion through my false individual ego... excess I speak perhaps it gives much scope to confusion. just I request you to treat this as apiece of poetic art reflecting certain feelings of human souls on this earth.. nothing is personal in this poem.. Thanks my dear Jan, for questioning me ..your venkat

Venkat

You capture the moment and the emotion.
It's the fact that life has a beginnng and an end that makes it so precious. You bring this out so well in this poem

Venkat,
This is such a beautiful piece of work! I was very moved by your words. Though death is a subject of sadness, this poem left me with peace. Thank you for this.
