This Mask

Contributed by The_Phantom on Monday, 1st June 2009 @ 09:03:43 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

There’s a hole where a heart use to be, an empty space for love’s resting place,
A graveyard of broken hearts, memories of love past and what may start,
Do I trust again, has the feeling of completeness passed with the wind,
Do the tears ever dry, why must love wither and die,

Alone with my thoughts, scared by love’s battles I’ve fought,
Unable to win, I go in search of someone who cares and try again,
Another dead end, a wild goose chase leads to more pain within,
The false hope, looking for anything that could help me cope,

The fake smile, heartbreak adds to my denial,
Eyes are the windows to the soul, mine are tinted so no one knows,
The pain I feel, it’s like my heart has been killed,
Murdered in cold blood, could someone so damaged ever be loved?

Lost within a world of hurt, it’s like my heart is bleeding through my shirt,
A faint heartbeat, on life support with pain so deep,
Looking for a heroin, to heal my heart and help me love again,
But that maybe is too much to ask, that’s the reason I wear this mask.

Forever Faithful
The Phantom

Eyes are the windows to the soul, my are tinted so no one knows,

This entire write just sits in the soul while reading but this line really got to me.
You truly bared your soul within this verse my friend.

Hugs you
Shall
